'StopStone / TOMEISHI'
This single stone touches on spiritual, ritual, and natural aspects of Japanese culture. Hand-stretched slabs of clay are slapped onto a board and compressed, forming a cube—a reference to Tomeishi, sacred ‘stop stones’ that ward off malicious spirits. The final form stands as a ‘stop sign’ for the chaos and violent conflicts that beset the modern era.
