Empar Juanes
'AURA'

This delicate series explores the body’s geometry and sensuality. Inspired by minimalist architecture, agate is cut with precision, pushing material boundaries to emulate the human anatomy. A sinuous paradox emerges, interlacing strength and fragility, weight and lightness, the body with the penumbra, and considering the ways craft transcends immateriality by grounding ideas in material truths.

Agate, stainless steel and elastic cord

With degrees in Architecture and in Art and Design, jewellery artist Empar Juanes draws from a dual background to transform raw gemstones into ethereal, sculptural works. Her brooches, necklaces, and ornaments have been part of solo and group exhibitions in Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands.

"She creates such light objects that you cannot imagine that they’re made by hand from a hard stone."

Former Head of Exhibition and Fairs, Chamber of Skilled Trades, Munich
