Kobina Adusah
'I Still Face You'
Stark themes of childhood struggle are etched into these sculptures with gentle sincerity. Drawing inspiration from Akan history and mythology, Adusah tells a story about the lack of paternal love and the void shaping his artistic journey. The malleable nature of the clay becomes a metaphor for the marks of pain, enduring strength, and the process of healing.

A graduate of Industrial Arts with a specialisation in ceramics at Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kobina Adusah’s work focuses on terracotta through a hand-carving practice, often grappling with coming-of-age themes. His work has been shown in Munich, Kumasi, and New York.

"The surface is engraved of different patterns, which relate to the historical reference of people, society, and also the different kind of patterns we find all over our life in itself."
